Jail and Bail Fundraiser 2011

Gideon’s Army held a fundraiser this past summer called “Jail and Bail.” The fundraiser consisted of volunteers from Gideon’s Army who dressed in prison attire and handcuffs, and had their photo taken for the wanted poster.

It was then presented to the public that whoever wanted to bail one of these prisoners out of jail could do so by making a donation to Gideon’s Army Jail and Prison Ministries. Donations received were anywhere from $1.00 to $5.00 to $10 or $20 or whatever they felt they wanted to give.

The Jail and Bail fundraiser started up in August and ended the day of Biker Sunday which is an annual event held at Christensen Field in Fremont, NE. Biker Sunday is an outreach to bikers, mostly, but anyone is welcome to attend, and is hosted by Christian Community Fellowship Church of Fremont, NE and Gideon’s Army has been a huge part of this event, along with the Christian Biker’s Association.

This year’s Jail and Bail Fundraiser brought in more than $1,000 in donations and all the proceeds will go toward the opening of “Larry’s House,” a transitional house for ex-inmates.

Gideon’s Army has done other fundraisers throughout the summer. You can view them all by clicking our Fundraisers button.
