Mission

MISSION STATEMENT:

Gideon’s Army is committed to proclaiming the good news of the gospel to inmates and their families through solid biblical teaching and mentoring.  Our goal is to help inmates prepare for reentry to society, restore relationships, and reduce recidivism.

Statement of Beliefs:

1)    There is only one true God revealed in three Persons (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – known as the Trinity)

2)   He created heaven and earth

3)   There is a heaven and a hell.

4)   The Bible was divinely inspired by God and written by man.

5)   Jesus is God’s Son, fully human and fully divine, born of the virgin Mary.

6)   Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and on the third day arose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father.

7)   To be saved one must be born again, drawn by the Holy Spirit to sincere repentance and acceptance of Christ as Lord and Savior.  We are justified before God through Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection.

8)   After death, believers are assured of an eternity with God.

9)   After death, nonbelievers will spend eternity separated from the love of God.

10)  In the Second Coming of Christ, the Messiah to bring final peace to the world, the salvation and restoration of Israel, the gathering of all believers, and resurrection of believers from the dead, thus establishing His millennial reign (1000 years) on earth.
